We want everyone to be able to shop with us – including if you use a screen reader, enlarge the page, navigate by keyboard or find it hard to tell colours apart. Here you can read how the shop is built, how far we have come, and what to do if something does not work for you.
Here you search for products, filter them, read about them, add them to the basket and pay. You do not need an account to shop.
We use WCAG 2.2 level AA and the relevant parts of the European standard EN 301 549 as our technical benchmarks. They cover the whole journey: the front page, the categories, the product pages, the basket and the payment – including when payment is handled by our payment provider.
No harmonised standard has been published in this area yet, so WCAG is our yardstick and not an official approval.
We assess the shop ourselves on an ongoing basis: we measure the pages customers use most and fix what we find. When we last measured, the headings were in order, the images had text descriptions, buttons and links could be read aloud, and the fields had names a screen reader can use.
Some things can only be judged by a person – colour contrast, tab order, and the whole journey with a screen reader from the front page to payment. We have not yet had an external review carried out.
When we have, we will publish the result here along with what is missing and when we expect to be done.
Then we would like to know. Write or call and tell us which page it was and what did not work – we will get back to you with a solution while we fix the fault.
You can also have the information on this page read out or explained over the phone.
